Program Description
Spend a day in Salzburg combining music, history and the flavours of Austria. In the morning, follow in the footsteps of the Trapp family and visit locations featured in The Sound of Music. In the afternoon, take part in a cooking class and learn how to prepare traditional Austrian specialities.
Your morning begins with the Original Sound of Music Tour®, where you will discover the story of the Trapp family and visit locations associated with the film. The route takes you through Salzburg’s Baroque architecture and the picturesque Lake District. Stops include Nonnberg Abbey, the Gazebo at Hellbrunn, Leopoldskron Palace and the wedding church in Mondsee. Along the way, you can also sing along to some of the film’s famous songs.
In the afternoon, join the Edelweiss Cooking Class and learn how to prepare traditional Austrian apple strudel and Salzburger Nockerl. In winter, you will prepare Vanillekipferl Christmas cookies instead of Salzburger Nockerl.
Before you start baking, you will enjoy warm goulash soup, followed by the cooking session. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.
This experience combines exploring Salzburg and its famous film locations with a hands-on introduction to Austrian cuisine.
